Carbon Fiber Hood installation

I just installed my new Seibon OEM Carbon Fiber hood and the fitment is fine and it latches fully but it isn't being held down tight enough. One side is ok but the other side is up almost a full cm over the fender. I've adjusted the hood stops so thats not the problem, it's almost like it is a bit warped i can push it down but it won't stay. Do I need to try flexing it back into shape or will I have to get hood pins? Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't have a CF hood but I do have hood pins. I put them up through the hood stops, which would probably help your problem too. I have them because they keep my hood from fluttering at highway speeds.

You need to move the hood latch down a bit. There is like 3 bolts holding it onto the radiator support. I actually had to file the slots on mine to get it to close far enough/be held against the hood stops securely.

Cool, i actually did do that but I was thinking like you said that I might have to adjust the holes so that I can move it down even more. As for one side being up more than the other is that a problem or will it fix itself once it is held tight against the hood stops?

pretty much the same thing for the cf trunk. unfournately these things don't just bolt right up.

Once its held againt the hood stops it will be ideal, but I have my hood stops almost all the way out and they are not long enough so my fitment is just a tiny bit off.

Its hard to get them perfect, but between the hood latch and hood stops its really the only adjustment you have so keep playing with it till you get it as good as possible.

If you have to use hood pins, try these Mr. Gasket Hood and Deck Pins: MRG-1472 - summitracing.com over the regular style. I have the regular ones now, they rust and you have to be very careful removing them or they'll scratch the [shizzle] out of your hood. I bought the key style ones but just haven't put them on yet. I'm probably not going to use the big shiney base plate either, I'll put a rubber washer under the lock and trim to the same size as the lock for a cleaner look.
