Bought 94 mx6 ..klze???

I just bought a 94 mx6 with supposively a klze engine in it. Does anyone no if i can find any serial number or any proof that this is the correct engine..this is the inly mx6 i have driven and wouldnt know the difference...also it wont let me downshift into 3rd gear (can shift from 2nd to 3rd and everything else)...anyone else had this problem or no whats wrong? It doesnt eseem there is any room at all to put cold air intake into the car and headers might be a pain...let me kniow what anyone thinks, thanks
