HID Problems...

Curious if anyone knows what this is... the lights get REALLY bright, like normal HIDs, then they dim out to like normal headlights it seems. Is this a sign of bad ballasts? I basically ordered a kit and well 1 light isnt working and the only light that does doesnt seem bright at all.

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

When i turn mine on, they charge for a second, get real bright and dim down to normal. I rode in a few acuras that had them stock so i knew it was normal. Check the wiring on the one thats burnt out, rumor has it that these things come from china and often times will have mixed up wires or just minor defects.

That's normal, the ballast is warming up. As long as your HID doesn't flicker and go off then you are ok. If you need any replacement ballast, I got some for sale for cheap.

Well thats good to know about the diming, as far as 1 headlight not working, I switched the bulbs and the other bulb worked, even tried switching ballasts to be totally sure, so it looks like the bulb itself isnt working, closer inspection the inside of it was black, so I will get a new one in and post a few pictures, but thanks for the answers, cleared up some confusion! Only thing I need to do next is get some H4 Projectors, after seeing them on my normal headlights... there is a crisp cut still... but a nasty glare right above it, you will see in the pictures. And noted about you having some ballasts, might need some in the near future.

Phillip 8k HID H4-3D kit. I just bought projectors, I am assuming I will need to un-screw the metal shield around the HID to properly fit them into the projectors? I will get some pics up tonight of the stock vs HID pic, and these are before the projectors so there is a nasty glare, but for good comparison. Also I will get pics with the projectors and both hids.

The new HID kit came in, I installed it, everything looks great. The Projecters that came in, lol ,were what I paid for, I wasnt expecting much, but just FYI to anyone, the ebay h4 projectors are a joke, little to none light came out of them, and it wasnt even a defined beam, more like a big circle of light. I will be ordering some new projectors soon, just trying to find a platform that will work with my h4's hopefully. Until then I am using the diamond cut platform, and I just aimed them down a few notches from stock, drove around with a few friends, on coming, passing, behind, and they said they experienced no glare, and the fact is the whole road is lit up beautifully.
