Any kit you want???

So I have been wondering about this for a long while now, and after seeing BLades' in progress pics it basically answered my question. To get a kit to fit right, you should mold it to the original factory bumper. So in turn, you really don't need to buy a kit made for our cars, other than the sides. Do you think that this is possible??? Virtually buy any kit you fancy, cut off the top of it, bottom of your factory bumper and mold them together??? This could be a huge breakthrough. Anyone else's opinions would be great.

yea i actually considered doing that with a showoff front bumper... i think the reason alot of people dont do it is cause they want to do the install themselves and making fiberglass smooth doesnt come easy to everyone ya nkow.... i do think its a good idea tho

Thats creepy. lol. Thats the bumper I would like as well. I have a wings west kit on my other car and it looks similar to the show off. So I was actually thinking about just using it as a mold to make my own front bumper out of fiberglass and buy the rest.

If you do do that, ask a bodyshop what to use to mold them together. They aren't the same kind of material so I don't know if just fiberglass would work.

Even creepier...I have the Cavalier Kato front bumper...aka Showoff 3. Great minds think alike!

The dope part is that I have the extra bumper to mold it on to.

This could be a revolution in the "in" styling of the six.

I was a huge fan of the c west supra front, but it slost to the s 15 front. Do you think the process you guys are talking about would be possible witha c west supra???

Keep up the good work and brainstorming.... I am looking forward to seeing in procress pics.

I just found out starting monday that i should be making around 600-800 a week at my new job. Body kit is definatlly in the NEAR future now..

All you need to do is buy some fiberglass mat and then liquid fiberglass bondo and create whatever modification you wanted. Just staple it or use wood to make your line or curve of your modification. U would have to roughen up your bumper where you were going add your new fiberglass to get it to bond together. When my front clip was shipped and the person wouldnt give me a refund i just fixed it myself and thought about exactly what you guys are talking about. I havent done much fiberglass to car but I do custom stereo enclosures with fiberglass. When I am finish with mine i will post, my car is going to the bodyshop to put my bodykit on in two weeks, and i got my new tires for my 18 gunmetal 5 spoke adrs. And dual halo angel eyes, I think with a black car it will look sweet. Any questions on fiberglass just pm me.

But the hard part is to prevent cracks when you join fiberglass to urethane. Urethane flexes way more than fiberglass

One way to join the parts would be using windshield glue and rivets. Then smooth it out with FG bodyfiller base and fine bodyfiller top. This is method is tried out and proven to work.

OMFG, I just realised, this thread is 4 yrs old!!!
