I just wired in my ms, i bought it off rebel2k4 off ebay, i beleive its a ms1 v2.2.
WHen i start up megatune i says i 'Megatune controller code version' error. I think its because i don't have the correct ini file from lots of searching on the net. Can anyone help?
I've got everything except for the injectors and the ignitor output as i was worried this would happen!
I've got an ms1 v2.2 with msns extra firmware, i've set the config to msns_extra and its not communicating properly, as soon as i open up megatune, it says 'controller code version' error saying its not receiving what its expecting.
I've tried lots of things but can't get anywhere. Please can anyone help!
I'm using msns extra, i've got matching firmware and sofware but it's still not communicating properly.
I am using a usb/serial adapter adn i've tried all the suggestions to solve any problems and it can read the engine outputs if i use the ms1 bg code but after a couple of mins it comes up with the error of its not receiving what its expecting. I don't get it!
thats what i'm running, problem is i now have to buy a laptop with a serial port. I just bought one that didn't have one! Didn't realise there was so many problems with usb/serial adapters.
Did you have a similar problem to me then and switch to a straight serial port and then it worked?

My problem was that it wouldn't communicate with it at all and wouldn't recognize anything. Switched to an older laptop with a serial port and it worked great.
Check craigslist or your local pawn shop. Nothing fancy is needed for the laptop, just a serial port and a version of windows
Thats it, and all the output readouts go absolutely mental like its reading one second then not the next, bought another usb/serial cable and its still the same.
