well i plan to put on a upgarded smic, stock 1g smic with 2.5 outlets, this weekend, im keeping it under 8 lbs, now its around 7, with no intercooler, and it runs great. so ill intercool it and put race gas in at the track and try to run 10lbs and let it rip, still stock fuel pump so if it leans out which it shows no sign of now, then ill through a stock turbo dsm pump in and should be fine there. and probe turbo fuel pressure regualtor, not sure but figured it be little better. looks like rain all weekend but next weekend well defiantly be running it, ill update when or i intercool it this weekend with pics,

i may relocate the battery to the trunk and mount the smic right there, it will keep the piping extra short with mabey a small fan to cool it off, and mabey even a crazy wrx hood scope, or mount it or a big front mount that i have in the front bumper but that i think will be over kill and hold it back some, it doesnt need that much intercooling since it wont be runing more than 12 lbs and only at the track.

so how much can these stock internals handle before blowing up and not from leaning out ??

Im running a garret T28 turbo from a stock 240sx s14 with a volvo 740turbo intercooler..
Boost is up to 0.7 bar(not into the psi stuff )and fuelmods are only a FPR set on a groundpressure at 3.0 bar.
Runned great until two weeks ago when something happned with the valves..Started blowing blue smoke and exhoust was going out into the oil breathe tank
So im going for a rebuild that i posted in another thread

today we intalled my upgraded smic into the battery location after relocateing the battery in the trunk. piping still very short and we only lost one lb at most of boost through the intercooler setup, i tightened the spring again and it pulls little harder and hold good at 7lb, i need a tighten spring and run 8 to 10 lbs, stock clutch has been holding good so far. it was replaced couple motnhs ago. only problem is the intercooler doesnt get any wind and heat soaks pretty quick, so we may run a air dam or ram air or a fan or some thing to cool it off in the near future.

Got a couple runs in at the track today, a 15.2 at 93 mph and a best driving run and got it to a 14.8 at 97, the mph wasn't bad but the time could have been better, the 0-60s were 2.8 and 2.4, not too good. First run was at 8lbs and second was 10 lbs. Now the little excuses, well the riged up spring and zip tie got to go, the boost climbs slowing up to 10 lbs, it doesn't just slam to 10 like it should and will soon when I get a custom actuator mounted up in there. Having the boost hit right away instead of slowly working its way up should shed a half a second off the 1/4 mile time. Also off the line this car sucked, it either took off slowly and didn't spin to a 2.4, that was after I lit up the left tire and the right tire didn't spin at all and took 2.8 seconds just to go 60 feet. This is with 17s and 215 40 series tires, that isn't helpin either. We ran it on 10lbs all day, many pulls and pulled good and solid in the rich. We tryed but couldn't get the riged up spring to hold it to boost higher than 10.

I gained .4 seconds just from going from 8 to 10lbs but I still had a bad start.
Stock this car was what a 18 sec car, so not a bad gain so far. Beat a newer v6 camaro, was only a few cars behind and higher mph then a 13.8 78 camaro 350.

so custom actuator, mbc, better stock tires, little more boost (11-14), bigger rewired fuel pump and a regulator if needed and hopefully good low 14s maybe a 13.9 to come in a week.

ok why not just use a mbc????? or mess with the spring?

amd why rewire the fuel pump? i mean it works on our cars(dsm's) but i don't think it'll work on a mx6, i's just get a supra tt or a 255lb fuel pump, or hell a stock dsm pump.......

and the reason i think you are slowly building 10 lbs is beacuse of that manifold it flows like poo compared to other ones......again not trying to be an ass just trying to help
