I always search through other car forums looking for car parts for freinds, for my self etc. Mx6.com peoples are geniouses compared to many others..
Ha ha...pisser.
"freinds" is actually friends...Um, "peoples", so that would make the rule one person, two people and three peoples would it...? Oh and "geniouses" is actually geniuses.
Not only did you restrict the airflow of an already restrictive turbo, you PERMANENTLY messed up a brand new turbo! You should have done this to an OLD turbo first. And the noise that youre hearing? Those are the bearings CRYING for mercy. You FUBAR'd the balance of the turbo. I guess you live and learn, huh?
For future reference (and to avoid future COSTLY mistakes), please order and READ the following books;
Turbochargers (by Hugh McInnes)
Maximum Boost (by Corky Bell)
You will then have a better understanding of how royally you screwed up.
Oh... Question... Is the turbo still working? Is the car still running? I noticed you havent posted lately.
Hello from the Audi Community!..... this thread has made it all the way to our forums. I strongly suggest this thread gets locked or removed as this has to be the most retarded thing I've ever seen....and yes this reflects badly on you guys here. I'm sure there are a lot of really smart guys around here but damn I feel sorry that you have member posting crap like this. I can't believe those little spot welds even held those flaps on there for more than one rotation at the rpms those turbos run at. Post a pic of the turbo internals when it fails... ROFLMFAO
