where is it located in the v6 models (94 if that matters, obd1)? can't seem to find it and i'm wondering what i have to pull off to get to it. is it underneath the throttle body? anything would help, thanks!

you're in the wrong section. most likely get more exposure in the general 2g thread. anyway getting to the egr valve from the top of the car (take off air intake box and throttle body) is a pain as there isn't much room and you can't see what you're putting the wrench on. basically directly underneath the throttle body, look down about a foot or so and look for the plug with wires coming out of it next to a vacuum line. going from the bottom is supposedly much easier, but you have to take the crossmember and rear rear header off, so yeah, have fun with that

The EGR valve is just to the right of the 2 throtle body hoses below the right-most valve cover in the picture.

This is an old pic, my new motor doesnt have any parts on it yet.

using the original picture, the EGR valve is circled in red. this particular valve is from a 95+ KL engine. i say this because in 95, the design of the electronic actuator was changed. i have purchased two new EGR's and they are both with this new design. they also include an adapter harness that allows it to be used on 93/94 vehicles.

You sure dmark? My 94 had that same valve on it (without any adapter harness), my 93 however has the other style, with the connector dangling from a harness.

hey, it's entirely possible. i'm going from my own personal experience and from what i've seen in the yards and from other engine work i've done.

hmm. might be an out-of-state thing then, because my 94 has the other style.

Slightly off the topic of this thread, but you guys seem to know alot about the EGR on the engine...

Is it possible to disconnect the power to the EGR to increase power slightly? Or is it slightly more complicated than just pulling the plug out?

Cheers

93, 94 and 95 all had a slightly different EGR wiring setup. So thats why its confusing. I went thru 2 EGR's before I found one that would plug into my harness on my 95.

Disconnecting an EGR isnt going to result in extra power. Not to mention the engines smoke more from the valve cover breathers and the exhaust w/out the use of an EGR valve. Look at ZE's! Ive never seen a ZE that didnt puff black smoke like a freight train. And the ZE IM blocks the EGR port.
