Hi all,

I have a question in regard to the EGR valve on the engine.

The hole I'm talking about is on the underside of the engine that is supposed to connect to the read headers.

Does it have to be blocked?

If left unblocked will it effect a turbocharged KLDE?

(I know the hole on the exhaust has to be blocked for the turbo to spool)

Yes, it will have to be blocked or plugged somehow. You can plug the port that goes to the rear headers on the EGR valve, or you can take the whole valve off and make a block off plate for the block.

As a matter of fact, I think I have an EGR block off plate sitting here. I bought it for my setup but by the shop that installed my setup forgot about it and cut their own out.

15 bucks shipped if you want it. (in usa)
