This setup made 240WHP/240WTQ. Close to 90whp increase over my NA dyno numbers on the same dyno. On 4Psi. It was daily driven with 25+ mpg and I never had a problem with it. (2/19/2015 - present )

Since then I have:
Sold FMU and Apexi NEO -$300(not sold yet)
Purchased Stratified PNP MS2 V3.1 + $400
so after taking a break from this project, and installing everything i already bought.. im around $500 from a running turbo.
my revised plan is...
buy FMU and AFPR $110
buy 50 trim turbo/wastegate/bov $200
buy some rubber turbo couplers $30
buy oil fittings $50
get hotpipes welded by local exhaust shop $100
boost 5psi and keep an eye on my A/F ratio, oil psi, and boost.
any problems with that? i know it isnt the best, but for a basic setup?
boosted engines blow because they lean out right? will keeping an eye on my wideband gauge keep my engine from blowing? #safe?
Boosted engines blow because of many different factors. Keeping an eye on EVERYTHING is the best you could do. Inch your way up, and make sure everything is within a comfortable range. 5 PSI should be okay on the KLDE if you know you stuff about tuning. I wouldn't go any higher unless I had forged rods, and a better transmission. Careful in 3rd gear. It's known to go out on the MX6 if you're pushing at or over 250HP.
My motor in 03 was a totally stock KL w/ 96k miles. I ran a straight T3 48/60 for a while and it was insanely torquey, it was perfect for auto-x. Then I got a used 60 trim t04e and pushed 8.5psi with a 12:1 vortech FMU, stock injectors & rails, 255 walbro LOW pressure pump. My fuel pressure went over 110psi! DON'T DO THAT! If you can live with 235whp for a while, do an 8:1 or 10:1 FMU and raise the base fuel pressure to 50psi. I can't guarantee how it will idle but it should survive as long as you don't boost spike and have clean injectors.
My oem KL motor lasted 25k miles of torture. I tore it down and the pistons had huge chunks missing on the corners from detonation. One of these chunks actually rattled around in there and smashed a valve and spark plug. If you just have an FMU you better watch the wideband o2 like a hawk and stay under 7psi with a small T4, like a 50 trim ebay turbo. I'd rather see you choose MS right away and not risk the motor. It's only $300ish to get that up and running. It will be sooo much smoother and even a crappy base tune would give you 25hp more over an FMU, where you can't control timing. Good luck with whatever you choose and be careful. Remember, learning from your mistakes is part of the journey. I made lots and don't regret any of it.
Taking a break from the parts search. Fixing my wideband which broke via large turtle. Paying for school and prom for my girl and such. Will check back in in a month or so.
Well I'm gona test it and rebuild it with a vortech kit. Should be able to get it running for around half the cost. Some guy just had it laying around his garage and wanted it gone for whatever he could get + shipping
Does this job require you to shave your legs? Not judging if you do, but these cars do cost us dearly. Some professions can help support the MX-6 better than others
