indubitably! there is more info on turbo's than superchargers. Plus the only supercharger i have found for my LS isa round $4500! Mucho mula. However, turboing a LS is stupidly custom, i cant wait till i have all my parts!

What about an electric super charger? Would that be a good alternate route to get out of the pain of the exaust pipe bending and what-not and still get the same power? I dont mean do anything home made like.........a leaf blower. lol that just sounds kinda getto. but I have a friend that did it to his Escourt with a leafblower but it wasnt electric it was a 2cycle. I cant imagine pulling up to the start line and have to jump out of the car pop the hood and pull crank my supercharger.I guess that would get alot of street cred I havnt seen him in a while so I never found out how it went. but anyway Ive heard of aftermarket electric superchargers I just havnt done alot of reading on them and I dont know if they even make them for our cars.

It varies from one car to another. I, of course, believe you should, but not with stock parts. At least replace your internals. For right around $1k in parts you could have Ross pistons & rings with 9:1 compresssion, pushing Eagle rods. Bore it .020" over and knife edge the crank and you'll have a bottom end capable of spinning to 9000+ rpm and supporting more horsepower than you'll ever make (900?). Of course, you can't get that 9000 rpm without a 5 angle P&P head job, valves, cams, double springs, retainers... But that block will support anything you throw at it. I highly recommend it.

hmmm all that work to make it spool up to 9000rpm.......lol.........before turbo my standard 626 engine KL-ZE 2.5i V6 revved to 9000, well it hit the 9000 on the clock and then stopped going (the needle not the engine) needless to say it sounded sweet, but that is from a standard engine..........if you search for KL-ZE engine on google.com you will find mazda's own site about the "miller cycle engine stating that "although the KL series engines used in the probe and mx6GT's are rated to just 7400rpm, they will infact revv to 10,000 rpm, this is the mechanical redline of the engine. theoreticaly any higher speeds achieved from these engines would result in catastrofic con rod faliure.)

so you see, if you have a 92-97 kl-ze V6 car, take off the Lambda sensors, (exhaust sensors) and use a free flow exhaust and you too will see revvs of 9000+..........

how does this work? i hear you say..........well
the lambda sensors govern the amount of O2 (oxygen) in the eshaust system before and after the catalytic converter. if they detect a change in 02 levels they will adjust fuel pressure accordingly, if you remove the lamda sensors they will detect no trace of O2 and will boost fuel preasure up to maximium. also the computer will not know that this is the case and will "over ride" the rev limiter thus enabling the engine to free rev to 10,000 rpm, (in theory ive never actuakly got mine past 9400 even with turbo)

"so go forth and modify young child" and have fun doing it!

never fear the unknown for it will stay unknown forever.96 klze widebody, to much to list....boost in the works

I didn't read most of your post since I got to the "I rev'd my stock KL-ZE to 9k and it was great" part and knew the writer knew nothing.

Good luck reving a ZE to 9k on stock valvetrain let alone making any power up there. Who cares what it sounds like if you can't make any power. It'd be like reving the F2T to 7k instead of 6k.. big deal, they're pigs after 5k anyways.

E85 fueled Twin Turbo

I am in the planning stages of converting my 96 MX6 V6 to run on E85 fuel. I am considering high compression with twin turbochargers and full stand-alone engine management as a way to extract maximum power.

Please if you could; recommend some quality V6 cylinder head porters that know this engine type.

I do not like what I have seen here in Kentucky as far as tuning shops go. I am going to create a JGTC type car (fully functional racecar), tube chassis, rear wheel drive, working aerodynamics etc.

4 cyl Turbo

I'm new and haven't spent a lot of time on the site but I was wondering if anyone has tried to install a 4 cyl 626 turbo kit on a 4 cyl mx6? There seem to be a few 4 cyl 626 kits out there that might be compatible with the mx6.

Has anyone purchased 1 of these kits? or would you be better off custom making your own. Just curious

There will be plenty of posts to support vendors of the community, but you can get hot pipes on eBay for $175 shipped. The rest of the components in the kit can be had for under $2k (maximum for top quality stuff).
