Defective VRIS..no time to replace before road trip

Murphy's Law.

so...What would be the ill effects of driving with a faulty VRIS silenoid?
I"m almost 99.6% sure it's the #1 Vris, as it idles fine and accelerates to 3100rpm fine, than sorta of gets grumpy and stumbles after 3250 all the way to 4250.

Would this damage anything?

I would of replaced it today, however couldn't get the part in time, and I'm headed for a 16hour trip tomorrow

opinions?

Thanks

no one?

basically I can do highway travel at 105kph (60mph) or 140kph.
As long as I'm over the 4250 range it's smoother.

bad idea? bad gas mileage? bad for the engine?

gotsta know!

Define "stumbles"... VRIS defects don't usually cause the engine to stumble (in the traditional sense: a rumbling or erratic behavior). In other words, if you are feeling a true "stumble" then it's likely something else.

If you mean "stumble" as in "loses it's breath" or something, then yes this can be attributed to failing VRIS - the zip-tie method works fine to help out a bit there.
