i went on a trip on the weekend, with long corners at speeds of 120kmh. you can feel the 4ws getting rid of body roll. also when you take shaper corners at those speeds, its freaks you out to feel the back end moving sideways

its just too expensive. it was abandoned as a way to improve handling.

high performance RWD cars seem to cope fine without 4ws

Well yeah the skyline sucks, its RWD, with that and them turning its going to make it noticible slower and harder to controll under acceleration during cornering.

yeah, i too think it helped the handling. i think some cars still have it today, but not much of a fuss is made about it.

I dont know if mine is working properly, and Im not fussed if it isn't as I can still drive fine. The 4WS will only engage when the steering wheel is at full lock, then it shifts a little. But it will only turn one way, if you turn the steering wheel back the other way to full lock i get nothing.

^^ your system is broken. check the fuse for the 4ws, and if it is okay.. well, your buggered. the computer that controlls it could be faulty, the rack broken... dunno. get it checked out.
