I had this on two different cars(Mazda Mx6 and 626).
It could be caused by a short anywhere in the PCM wire harness. When i had the EGI-INJ fuse problem (on my MX6) it turned out to be a corroded wire under the fuse box (green/white).
Alternatively, a fuel pump gone bad can also cause the fuse to blow(on my 626).
The car has 220k so it could be the fuel pump in my case, I checked under the fuse box and found the green/white wires that seem to be in decent shape.
Although while I had the car hooked up to a charger we did manage to start the engine but a lot of smoke came from the fuse box :X And it wasn't running normally, but it was only for 5 seconds and the ecu was probably reset which could help explain that.
