On the way home from taking my MX-6 storage the engine over heated and seized up. so my dad and i waited for it to cool down and anti freeze came up and spilled all over the ground. so we got it towed back to my house. i really wonder if it would cost more to buy a new car or get a new engine, or posibly fix the one i have now. i really dont know but i am sick of all the damn problems with this car!! but i still love her
well maybe not. i went outside after it cooled down a tremendous amount. poped the hood. the spark plug wires are like melted in there im not shure but i figured why not try it. so i got it to turn over on the first crank. so my family mechanic is comming this weekend to see whats the matter. maybe im not losing my 6 now
well we knew something was bad. the exhaust is off of one of the headers so it was ahrd to tell if it was exhaust or [shizzle] on fire lol. we were like 4 blocks from home so we said f it lets get it home and then it died. but once it was home i let it cool down. while i was waiting i tried the hair dryer and air duster can upside down and it DID not work on any dents for [shizzle]. but i started it and anti freeze started bubbling out and spilling so i shut the car off. my dad thinks the radiator is plugged up so were draning it tomorrow.
edit - the radiator fans were also not turning on at all so im not sure with that. which fuse in the box is for that i havent looked in the owners manual yet.
the fuse for the fans is in the main fuse panel in the engine bay.
as for the fans not coming on, there could be a problem with the coolant temperature sensor, with the adjustment of the TPS, or possibly one or both of the fan relays.
but the car also overheated, which means there might be the problem with the radiator as you mentioned, but it might also mean that the thermostat has failed. you could remove it and test it to make sure.
testing it means placing it in a pot of cold water and then heating the pot. as the temp rises, you should see movement in the spring mechanism, opening the thermostat. if it opens, it's good. if not, then it should be replaced.
well that was the other thing my temp gauge doesnt work! haha well i drained the radiator and flushed it out and am buying anti freeze tomorrow. so we shall see what happens. where exactuly is the sensors i need to look for? as in coolant temp sensor and thermostat. i didnt see anything when i looked
i baught a thermostat and coolant temp sensor. i know where the sensor goes but is this where the thermostat goes or am i wrong? my car did not have one there and my dad said thats probally where it goes.

That is not where it goes. Follow the lower coolent line off the rad. up to the engine. It will lead you to a housing that can be unbolted.
"I may not have started this thread, but damn it, I'm going to end it!"
MSIIv3 Extra 2.0.1: custom 36-1 reluctor ring; fabulous! Crazy N/A. 95 MX-6 LS-ZE
ok yeah i figured that out after but once i took the bolts out the housing wouldnt come apart. and i had it all running and stuff and it started spitting up coolant from the overflow. so i have no idea now im so pissed off. anyone have an idea
