Wierd sound from fuel tank...

Ok, so After my car was sitting for 4 months, I tinkered with it a bit and got it running. It was a bitch to start, had to crank for 30 seconds but it caught. I drove it a bit, parked/turned it off. I waited a min, started it again, and it caught right away. Now it refuses to start, engine turns, but little fuel is getting to it. Now I know what a fuel pump sounds like from my Saturn... and this is nohting like that. It's making a dull mechanical popping noise. LIke the sound a snapple top makes when you open it for the first time, except with much thicker metal. And it only makes the sound once when I turn the key to on, and then once again when I turn the key off.

Is it possible that the fuel is blocked up behind something, and that the pump isnt engaging because it's sensing the line is pressurized?? I have no idea when the last time the fuel filter was replaced, and have had no prior experiences with things that go wrong when it is completely blocked.

And is there an easy way to see if fuel is getting past it? Obviously it's not getting to the engine.

Could be that due to standing for so long, sediment has now blocked your f/p

As King6 said in another post, feel on the fuel rail to see if it is comming through.
Your Pump should make a fizzzzzz type noise...

Africa - It's like "zoom-zoom-stolen"
