Been to the drag strip to see some action yesterday.

I didn't try the 6, cause the engine has 232,000km on it, and I don't know if it will kill it.

Any advice?

It runs very fine. It has had service regularly. Didn't skip any oil change yet (and the previous owner didn't too).

I cleaned the air filter yesterday with that K&N cleaning kit. I noticed that the hose which is attached on the front-end of the MAF was disconnected on one end. I replugged it, and maybe it's psychological, but I feel the engine like it has more kick. Maybe it's me.

Had a few problems with the car since I have it, but never engine-related (alternator, battery, axles, tie-rods, rear link kits, da*** freezing rear calipers).

I sometimes rev it up to 5k (very rarely actually), and it doesn't seem to have any difficulties. Most of the time I change gears around 3k.

Well if your car is well maintained I dont see why not if you want to run it at the track. If you haven't done much performance wise I dont think you would have to worry about braking axles or anything especially if you say they've been replaced. But in the end its all up to you if you want to take the chance with it. I think you should be fine as long as you don't have any major malfunctions going on with it. You probably did feel much of a power gain if you plugged the hose back in. If you were talking about the vacuum line on the intake you probably had a vacuum leak from hell going on. Just remember that if you beat on your car you Will replace parts more regularly then if you don't beat on it., so if your going to... make sure you keep doing regular maintenance on it. pretty common sense tho...
