Thumbs up running rough/stalls

car runs rough and sputters at idle. almost wants to die. any suggestions?
vaccum leak, pcv valve, fuel filter, egr valve, distributor, timing, intake?

any help would be great.

also needs a water pump. are the kits on ebay any decent?

Sounds like it could be any of the above man...

You have the right idea. You could start at the beginning and run through each one or, just pull the codes and this may give you the answer right away.

Re the water pump question, just get the one from the agents as it lasts way longer than the ebay stuff. OEM for this, IMO

I still believe that you should get critical parts from the agents only.
Fail = Guarantee
ebay part fail = U fail

alright. its still running rough and has an irratic idle. goes from about 1000rpm to 1500rpm and sounds like it wants to die. Plus it smells really rich of gas, exhaust even smells like gas.

I replaced spark plugs, pcv valve, and hooked up a vacuum line that was off. No effect.

Its still running rough. Any ideas? Need help. Want to get this thing running.

Look at the throttle body. If it's full of crap the IAC (idle air control) can't work.
