Unhappy 626 cuts out at lower rpm

this problem has been going on for some time now...

the car: 94 626 v6 5sp with HEI mod (NO EXTERNAL COIL)

if say i do a second gear roll through a stop sign and lug the engine a bit it just about quits.

its not bogging, i press the gas and it just quits/misses so badly that it wants to go down to idle/stall. then all of a sudden at the same throttle position it will fire back up with regular power...

if it gets really bad at a light if i let it idle it will miss to the point where it will actually stall. If its missing and i try to take off sometimes i can barely get the car going since its just cutting out.

once the car gets over 2000-2200 rpm it NEVER happens...it also does not happen until the car is at operating temperature.

Things i've done:

replaced disty cap (cracked)
replaced plugs/wires
wire brushed rotor contact.
soldered all HEI connections (replaced self tapping connectors)

other ideas:

malfuctioning tps?
fuel pump problem?
internal coil problem?
bad HEI ground (looks good to me tho...)

Anybody else have any input?
