You probably have done this, but, did you shoot some motor oil into each cylinder after reassembly? You may just have dry walls... Try it anyways. WD40 into each cylinder may loosen it up if it's a little rusty, then try oil after.

Yeah, I used a penetrant, then Marvel mystery oil and cycled the cylenders a couple of times.
I think I'm going to take it to a shop and have them look for my electrical problem. I cant even test for spark as the car shuts off(everything! except the oil indicator has a faint glow for some [fizzle]ed up reason) when I hit the ignition. |

You my friend have some serious issues there... Electrical problems, and perhaps a tear down of the motor might be necessary... Don't give up on it though... If you feel up to it, run bare minimum to the motor to see if it'll stay alive. I mean literally no alt, ps pump, a/c, to see if it spins free... I'm just shooting things off that I would try before giving in to a shop.

Ok. Is there a ground that should be running from my driverside strut tower? There is the remenants of what appears to be a grounding wire bolted on, but it is frayed off after an inch.
EDIT: Ground under battery is fine... Minor thought... does my O2 sensor need to be plugged in for the engine to want to start? As of now it's hanging there, not sure if it needs to be grounded to send the signal.... On a related subject, anyone know what the dealership charges per hour? I know I'm not going to like it as I was quoted $93 just to pull codes.(which I have done) I gotta get my 6 running... I sat in front of it tonight hitting lock/unlock on my keyless entry just to watch my blue halos flash. sad I know, lol. Last edited by SauerKraut : 7-26-08 at 22:06. |

It should start without the O2 sensor hooked up. Dealers around my way are now charging just over $100 per hour.

Ok.... I replaced the battery wire and the bugger turns over. I found out the reason it kept trying to start even with the key out, was because the dam remote start was trying to start it. IDK why, but maybe it got fried or something.... I hope thats not the case.
Quick question, should the car be able to start with the battery at 9.6v? I'm charging it tonight, but I'm curious |
