Fuel Gauge

Hi everyone, I was just wondering where does the needle of the fuel meter points to at around 260km? Mine was down 3/4. My fuel consumption is like 34 liters for 260km. Is that considered high? Did my service and changed the spark plugs and checked the O2s. No problems with that.
Also, I am driving a 92 Mazda mx6 2.5l MTX and when driving gear 1, my car actually feels heavier. Is it because of the gear ratios? It feels much faster after gear 1, Gear 2 and up.

that comes out to about 18 mpg, a little low depending on the kind of driving you're doing. If it's hard city driving then that seems about right, but a mix of city/hwy should yield mileage higher than that. If you're saying you're at a quarter tank after about 160 miles, then you, sir, have a problem.
