Steering wheel swap.

Did a quick search - found some info, but still somewhat vague...

I have just got hold of a GE2 leather steering wheel - with airbag.

I currently have a GE2 wheel fitted with airbag, infact, the two wheels are exactly the same, one being leather wrapped obviously. I am assuming it will be an easy straight froward swap.

Just want to confirm with anyone here on the process to swap them over, and if there is any risk involved with the airbag? Last thing I want to do is make it blow out or fiddle with it - resulting in it failing in the event of a crash.

Current: 1995 GE2 626 SDX Hatch
Past: 1992 AX2 Telstar TX5 Ghia

detatch the battery and turn your key to ignition and press the brake pedal to get rid of any left over charge and the airbag wont go off

no risk with the airbag dmwill. took it out of the wreck no worry.

there are 4 bolts on the back of the wheel. unbolt them and airbag comes out., just disconnect a couple of plugs.

the airbag aint going to go off unless there is a real good knock from something. It takes a decent crash to set one off.

anyway, 4 bolts, couple of plugs and the airbag is out.
