I am having vac issues, once my car warms up it idles up and down. And revs high 2k's untill it warms up.
I have a short ram intake and im assuming on the second pic that the vacumm stem was part of the stock air box? When the engine is running it hisses loud.
And I can not find anywhere that the first pic hooks up to, it comes from the main part of the wiring harness.
If anybody has any answers as what to do with both of these items please please please lemme know. Thank you
The wire goes to a stud like connector on your PS pump

sweet! thanks!
Ill try to find the stud connector on my PS pump tomorrow and see if i can get a rubber slip for the port on the manifold. Do you know what the port is for? When i got this car it had the short ram intake already and I dont see a listing for it on our vacumm line diagram.
some people change up the vac lines .. iirc .. I think that one may have went to the cruise control ... ?

well im not sure that it went to the cruise control. the cruise worked fine on my old engine. But i cant drive this one yet....cant switch gears...waiting on master clutch cyllinder from Ebay to get here. but it wasnt hooked up on old eng. i think not 100% positive tho.
Really it can go anywhere .. Ive seen so many diff vac setups in cars its not funny and they all work .. I mean 1 vac source is a vac source .. I may b wrong though but Im sure that the stock lay out has the cruise hooking up in that area .. IIRC ..Some IMs have a double nipple there for a solenoid and cruise ..

The open port goes to the FPR, if it has a double port there, then its or the FPR AND the Cruise. The picture you show of the FPR and the port, does that black line actually go anywhere from the FPR ? like to the solenoid it should be conected to, of which in turn goes to the port you have open.
FPR = Fuel Pressure Regulator... its the item in picture 2 and at the 1 o'clock position to the vac port. That should have a vac line going to a solenoid of which then goes to that port you have open.
in that case, that port is for your cruise control. If you are fitting this engine into a car that does not have cruise control fitted, then you need to plug that port, it causing a vacuum leak left open. There are many reasons for surging idle, this is one of them.
Ok cool well ill go by autozone and see if they have any od the little rubber caps to block it off. I hope this fixes the idle deal.
In the top pic, do you know what that line is supposed to do for the power steering?
The wire to the power steering pump is for the 'tightening' of the steering at speed. Unless its ever happened to you where-by the it does not switch back and the steering is very very hard, you will not notice it happen at high speed.
