Car Sluggish then Wants to go while on brakes

Lately my 96 m-edition automatic will try to die, even sometimes die, after i let off the brake at a stop light and try to go, it seems like its trying to just sputter out. Then every now and then i am on the brake at a stop light and it revs up and trys to fly forward. Any ideas?

i'd say its your tranny.. whens the last time you flushed the tranny?

Same thing happens to our van. WHen we come to a light, it seems like your fighting with the car vs braking. Next time it happens, put your car in neutral and it should stop. if not, perhaps i'm wrong..

Ya ill try flushing the tranny, it did stop when i put it in neutral. I hate automatics!!

yea, check your tranny man, if thats not it.. might want to check your EGR valve
