Heater / blower issue burning smell only works on full power

Hi,

I have an issue with the interior Heater / blower.

It now only blows on setting 4 - the most powerful

and its smells when on like its burning

has anyone else had this and what was it?

Thansk

Usually when the blower motor only works on high, the resistor pack is bad. Go to rockauto.com and search for resistor pack.

Check the blower motor resistor. It's located under the dashboard on the passenger side.

I can back this one up that the resistor has bit the dust. I just install my new blower fan and I didn't have the resistor hooked up and the fan would only blow on four.

I'd suggest taking out the blower fan and do a visual inspection. Its not too hard to take it out, took me about 20 minutes. Hook it up and power it up with the new part and see if it spins fine or not. You'll find out pretty quick if the fan/motor is adding a burning smell.

Similar Issue

I have a similar issue. Mine does the same thing and it only blows one direction which is everywhere. It blows defrost, floor, and dash at the same time along with only blowing on high. Any suggestions on this extra issue?
