I am a TV show producer in Hawaii and have had a motorsports show since 1999. Our new season we found a MX6 that was ready for the junkyard. So we pulled the car and decided to to a project with $3500 to get the car to be a daily driver to compete in the local SCCA Solo II events.
Get a photobucket account. It's free and you can link the images from there. Much easier to deal with than forum uploads. Here's my photobucket album so you can see what you can do with it for car related stuff. I have over 1000 pics hosted there for free.
Aftermarket seats, harness bar, 6 point harness. Powder coating the FD rims black. Brake ducts, carbon hood and trunk, power chip, push button start and a whole lot more stuff we gotta do and video for the show. If folks are interested I will keep posting.
^ Very nice. Hawaii - must not have a lot of mx6's around those parts
Thanks 2 Ped, but there's quite a bit of Mx6's here. The county of Honolulu has over 900,000 residents not counting the HUGE military presence and over 1,000,000 registered vehicles.
By the way? Contrary to belief we do NOT live in grass huts
Nice work!! I love hearing that the Mx6 maybe on TV its gotta be one of the most Underrated cars going!~ Im sure others around here feel the same.. but in a way its good for us, because it keeps the value of them down (cheaper to buy); lots of bang for your buck!
I will keep posted for updates!! cheers and looks like your doing very worthy mods to her so far!
Mahalo 69. The head wrench guy pictured in front of the camera was a Pro drifter and road racer on the mainland. We did the pro drift events at the Aloha Stadium. A buddy of his on the big rock, ( the 48 states ) ran an Mx6 in wheel to wheel competition and was doing real well. They called that Mx6 guy the 'V8 Slayer'. That is why I decided to get the car and do something with it. Took a long time researching parts. Expect to make 4 to 6 episodes. The hard part for me was I was doing some of the wrenching but also video shooting myself and be in front of the camera too. Lot of work.
We edited together just a blooper reel with some of our flubs. Guaranteed more to come. Check it out. A lot of local style humor though some of you mainlanders may not get it May post some snipets of the work but due to contractual agreements it has to air on the cable station first before we can post to our website / youtube so the rest of you guys can see it.
By the way we have been doing this TV show since 2000. The website is @ punishum.com I also got a Supra with a 1jz conversion that we are going to animal out as my pro drift car too

Right on man! Keep up the good work. I will keep posted for updates!! Mx-6's can be addicting... glad to see someone smokin v8's inspired you to get a 6... makes it that much better
Thanks guys. The shows will get done. Its a matter of time. Waiting for the wrench guy to do his on camera parts with his busy schedule, the machinist fabing up custom work and his busy schedule. Like this right here:
We are removing the factory fog lights and will be adding in full function brake ducts to the front rotors. The Mx6 cars that didn't come with the fog lights just had these block of plates. So we will be morphing the block off plate with the brake duct pictured. I will also be making carbon fiber panels on the interior and showing that as well. So the brake ducts connections will be made out of carbon fiber too or this new ballistic material the wrench guy found from his job which they use in ordinance disposal.
