After you fix all your vacuum leaks. If you still have the same issue. I'd recommend getting new plug wires.

roger that. i have no clue how old my current ones are.

got the solenoids today. installed them both with no problems and the loping issue is solved!

the v6 solenoid is color coded differently than the I4 solenoid, but the harness connections are identical.

NO WORRIES AND THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INPUT!

Glad to hear it was such a breeze to swap solenoids from the I4 to the V6 and that your car is back to normal.
