Please help.!

I have a 95 mx-6 ls with ZE. It didnt use to do this. But whenever I go maybe 15 to 25 miles and turn my car off. If it doesnt cool down completely it purrs and wont accelerate. Usually it will kinda pull out of it enough to let me get to highway speed. It doesnt overheat. I can drive around my small town all day and go 7 miles to work with no problem. Just when it gets pretty heated up. But like I said. It doesnt overheat. My check engine light will come on while its doing its purring thing while its heated up but only when I get going up to 65. But it goes off the moment I start slowing down. I dont know what it could be at all. Help.

If the check engine light turns on for this issue continually than a continuous memory code will be set that you can retrieve. That might give you good insight into what the car thinks is the problem. I'd start there.

Get a paper clip, then follow the instructions here to read the codes and find out why your check engine light came on.

1993-1995 Engine Controller Malfunction Codes

It will take you about 15 minutes the first time you do it. 2 minutes the second time.

My guess is you get code 9.
