Trunk Lock

Just a quick question...my trunk lock decided to stop working, so i was playing with the lever near the drivers door and snapped the cable. Trying to fix that, i COMPLETLY destroyed the actual lock on the trunk (just don't ask). My questions are How hard is it to fix the cable, and how hard is it to switch the whole lock cylinder on the trunk??

Selling off my last MX-6---1995 LX...runs excellent...see new england thread and for sale thread for info!!

If you have a remote from an alarm, you can probably just get it done for remote cheaper than replacing the whole thing, but I dont know, just a shot. Its probably worth checking out. Oh, to get a power trunk should run $120-$140. Good luck.

well seeing the bang up job you've done so far I'd say pretty hard .

BUt in reality, the whole thing shouldn't be hard... just takes patience. And for prolly like $30 a junkyard would sell that stuff to ya. Just make sure if you get a lock cylinder off of a new car, you need to get the VIN to get a proper key made from Mazda.

Just fix the lever/cable and make sure you don't hit the trunk switch that disables the lever, cuz you'll have to crawl in from the
back seat. My trunk lock don't work either, but that's fine w/ me.
