Got myself another mx6, need some info please.

Well since the tranny on my old i4 6 went out after 240k, I decided not to fix it and just get another one. So i ended up with a 93 ls. I dont really know much about the v6 so any help would be great. The car wasnt really accelrating that well after it warmed up, but after changing the spark plugs, it ran beautifully. The guy I got it from told me he had some transmision work done, and it has a shift kit. The car changes gears just fine. So what do I need to keep this car running great, besides the usual maintance. Do I need a fuel injection cleaner and if so which is the best. I know some people have had transmision problems here, so dose the atx need a cooler? Any advice would be apreciated.

i notice a lot of people overlook changing the fuel filter. this is a cheap fix to help keep your car running smoothly. personally, i believe in mobil 1 oil as well.

A transmission cooler would help you out a lot.

270WHP & 251TQ, the rest is a secret.

a shift kit? is this atx or mtx.. afaik - theres no shift kit for our cars its either a> the escuse one uses when it does the hard into 2nd shift trick, or b> the IAT mod, which forces it not to cut off the fuel in between shifts (luxury shift mode) and can do a good deal for your 1/4 mile times.

fuel filter another excellent idea..

cap and rotor are basic tune up items

if the plugs were old, the wires may be as well.. check them out, make sure no cracks in the boots, etc...

run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner.. chevron...

make sure your VRIS is working, do the paper trick (pm me for details if its hard to understand from the posts... but youre a handy guy, you'll figure it out i'm sure)

thats pretty much it... without getting into more extensive stuff

94 mx6 - you name it - I did it, came up with it, tried it and rejected it or just plain still have it. **Now in the caring hands of Chef**
93 mx3 - klze, i/h/e, rims and paint.. **FS - on a lift, has an engine, just need to put them together. I have no time. come buy it cheap.
