Query about removing the door chime

This was originally posted in the electronics section but due to a lack of views and no replies I've placed it in this general section:

According to this guide (on removing the door chime) (members.iinet.net.au/~ple/technical/chime/index.html) which i'm sure a few people on these boards have followed, it says to remove the melted solder with a solder sucker. However, I don't have a solder iron or solder sucker and just ripped the chime off the board. Can any problems eventuate from this?

Mucho gracias,
-Kevin

be sure not to snap the board.. but mate go and buy a soldering iron costs ?10~15 bux don’t it..

Or if you really don’t want to, heat up an old screwdriver with a lighter or something... and flick/shake off the melted solder.. (Man that’s dodgy....lol)

i dont really see anything wrong with it... as long as the board didnt crack... but a soldering iron could be your best friends and they're cheap... its nice being able to wire things up without using tons of tape that could possibly fall apart..

The link doesn't work.

Are you trying to get rid of the ding noise everytime you open the door(door chime)? All you have to do is unplug that one wire near the steering column. Either that or ground the wire that is behind the rear quarter cards near the seat belt assembly.
