Question Distributor Cap cracking

I have a 93 Mazda MX6 2.0. The problem I am having is that the Distributor Cap keeps cracking. About 4 weeks ago I replaced the belts, rear struts, and the distributor cap. Last week I noticed that the cap was cracked again. This time I replaced the whole distributor with a new distributor, cap and rotor. Drove it around awhile and it would jerk every now and again. Got home and seen that the distributor cracked again.

I dont have a clue as to why it would be cracking even with a new distributor. Has anyone had this problem before?

My guess is that you are over-tightening the cap. It doesnt have to be jammed on there, just snug.

The rythm is gonna get me!
