1) You hear the clips of how the exhaust sounds.
2)Shape doesnt matter. 2.5 in is enough.
3) Hear the clips.
4) Personally i'll go for borla deep enough not to be like civic.

I am going with 2.25in and a long resonator. With either a oval or a round muffler. Still looking for a good deal. I am looking at Magnaflow or Ractive or Volt. All in the round or oval shape. With knockoff headers. and a ZE

Ok, here are a few clips of my magnaflow with a stock cat. If someone can host these for me, I can get clips of my magnaflow with the resonated testpipe (I kinda grew to liking the sound)

stats:
V6, mostly stock except for a CAI
22" resonator, 2.5" crush bent piping (w/ a die)
idle and rev
rev and take-off
roll-by

Last night I dreamed I was a muffler... needless to say I woke up exhausted.

Allonzo nice clips. Which magnaflow muffler are you using??

Yea I have never heard of VOLT mufflers either until now. I am looking at VOLT or magnaflow and leaning toward magnaflow since I have heard alot about them.

Oval muffler? Round muffler? pipe size? resonator? test pipe? cat? headers?what size muffler are you or the person used? tip size and length?

What combination would result in the best sound. Other than buying a catback system like borla or greddy...

And by best sound I mean, nothing that is going to wake the people up down the street 2 miles. Something nice and deep and but you know and other people can tell you have an exhaust on there now.

Helpful tips from people that might have heard a mx6 or probe with a set up that was just bad. Learn from others mistakes.

Also, how many people are using round muffler?? How do they sound compared to an oval muffler? I would like to know size of both please. plus the rest of the set up as well..
I second those questions!!! They're really good.

The off the shelf Borla system: is it 2.25" or 2"? Anybody who has one could you please tell me? Also, how long is their resonator?

Wow just went through that whole thread for the first time. I hadn't ever heard that volt exhaust set up until tonight. Damn that's soooo nice sounding. Anybody know what size piping he used? Did he use a resonator? Volt just went to the top of my list for exhaust options.

I did read the conversation about his exhaust but it didn't go into much detail.

Its not dead, it just needs more infomation. But there are so many good threads on here and PT already, that we just need to centralize (sp) all the information here.

This is when I had stock piping with a generic Ebay Muffler... I don't have a clip with the same muffler on my 2.5inch custom exhaust.

There really wasn't that much rasp like it sounds on the clip... The recording is from my phone, so yeah...
