you are like 2 weeks to late or I could have sold ya my old one! lol good luck with what you get. I think there is a difference in the intake. like the aem v2 is not like an ebay intake. you can get greater power gains from a good intake. sure it will cost an arm and a leg. it is like saying all mufflers are the same. there are little difference's. nothing huge but there are small differences.
I am a thief. Do not buy from me. Do not pity me... I am a lying thief.
^ if there designed the same, they make same power. ebays are replicas of expensive ones. just with bad filter. just get one on ebay with crapy filter and buy a K&N or something else that is good name brand. although hotshot might get more because it is lower, but lower can be bad with intake.
mufflers arne't too good of a comparison although i get your point. a cheap ebay muffler is nothing like an expensive good one but they arent just larger pipes. theres more to mufflers than size and pipe curves. although performance wise they would be same.
i had just gotten one from ebay that came with a k&n filter for $60 shipped

can you tell the difference between warm and cold air intakes?? are cold air the ones that kinda go down the engine and warm the ones that stay on the same position the stock ones go?? is there any difference.. Thanks

You are correct. A "warm air" is actually called a short ram. The filter element is in the factory location. A cold air intake takes a 90 degree bend down where the stock airbox was. The filter usually ends up in the are behind the fog light.
The Cold air produces more power because it is pulling colder air (colder air means denser charge which equals better power), but runs the risk of sucking up water if you ever drive through standing water (this will of course destroy your engine). The short ram in most cases actually produces less HP than stock because it sucks in warmer air than the factory airbox.
^ hes correct. also note that although called "short ram" there is no ram. no air is forced in with either intake.
as far as water goes, there are arguements on how much water is needed to hurt your engine with cai. i believe it almost has to be submerged. i have read one case of this happening while most people on both forums have a cai.
