Finally Got My Custom 2.5 cat-back done

Got my cat-back done. 2.5 from the headers all the way back for $60 bucks from my friend who owns a exhaust shop. Maybe i could talk him into mass production off these for $100 and i'd keep $40 of it..lol I still have the stock muffler cause i haven't decieded on 1 yet. He said he can install the magnaflow with Real Corvette tips on the back for $150. Muffler alone is probally that much. The car pulls stronger than ever. And on top of that i did the seafoam treatment and switched to synthetic blend oil. From the butt dyno i'd estimate an extra 15whp. Can switching to synthetic really improve the car that much, Thats insane. I'll get some pics off the exhaust up when i get time. Whats the best muffler for our cars sound wise. i want a nice sound not raspy rice sound

a borla sounds good imo

different oil = hp.... i need to get some of that! Best of luck with that. Hopefully you have no leaks after switching to synthetic right after the seafoam treatment. Borla does sound nice, but there are lots of different mufflers out there.

15whp i doubt, your torque curve is different for sure, this is why you feel like your going faster, 5-10max.

Can you post some pics of your muffler. The magna flow he showed me had 1 inlet and 1 offset outlet both 2.5' wasn't polished or anything. I can hear a slight raspyness with my stock muffler. will the magnaflow change that? Forgot to add i don't have a cat on there so it might be louder than i want it to be. I like how quiet it 's now just want a little more growl.

raced a 93 prelude over the weekend and pulled on him. I doubt i would've won before getting this cat back done and the oil.

Oh damn, sorry I never checked back to this thread. Here's the only pic I have of it for now:

If you're looking for something quiet, check this out: http://www.mx6.com/forums/2g-mx6-oth...e-exhaust.html (My New 'Quiet' Performance Exhaust)

I've heard it in person, and it actually is quiet at normal throttle, but definitely noticeable when gunned.

So i guess if i want the low growl I'll need a hi- flow cat and a resonator huh ? that sucks. Guess i'll just get the mangaflow and if it's too loud the i'll get Hi flow cat " friend has a slp 1 he bought for his 04 gtp" for $35 And slap a glasspack underneath
