I can say now the non SVT contour bars are also quite larger than either our stock ones or the 98+ 626 bar.

I just got altima links and the 626 bar so I wont be doing this any time soon.

I thought the 98+ 626 sway bar was 16mm. I'm actually fairly sure of it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I measured mine with a caliper so I'm sure it's 14mm.

Maybe the OP was wrong about the 4 cyl and 6 cyl being the same? Mines from a 4 cyl.

There is a 6 cyl that I can check this weekend.

The '00-'02 626 has the thickest sway bars, thicker than the '98-'99. The '00-'02 are 16mm. the latter is 14mm

thanks for clearing that up. the one I got mine from was a 98. There is only one 01 626 available out of all the yards here. I allready got the caliper brackets for my brakes and I kinda want the intake but its pushed back under the cowl in this one. I guess it'd be worth getting the sway bar too before it gets crushed.

I'd only grab the bar off the front, and get the rear bar off a '98+ Contour SE which is a 19mm. I can assure you you will be pleased with the results.

2nd page. This guy apparently believes he has a Ford Contour gearbox in his mx6. Interesting trivia huh. I googled the pic (we dont have em here). Kinda looks like a Ford Mondeo (you guys get them there?) or maybe a rebadged millenia??

It is a mondeo. Too small to be a millenia.

Yeah it's a good car. Worlds better than the tempo (did you guys get that one down there?) About the only complaint was the small back seat. I would seriously like to have an SVT version. Throw a 3 liter block under those profesionaly ported heads and intake and you have a very quick sedan.

So if Im reading this correct, both the SVT Contour and SE Contour rear sway bars will work? (Assuming you use the rx7 endlinks?)

Its hard to find SVT's around here, but there's 5 or 6 SE's in the yard...

I don't see why you couldn't use the Altima links instead of the RX7's. And the year of the SE is going to determine the bar size. I found a couple in the junk yard here that were 16mm, you might as well get a 626 bar if you go with 16mm, at least it'll be the proper length.
