Is it just to give the caliper bodies clearance inbetween the mounting points?
A.
Ahhh just thought it, it'd possibly also include re-sizing the centrebore of the Mustang Rotors and my Cobra/Bullit/Mach1 13" rotors don't fit on the Mazda hubs due to Centrebore issues.
I keep reading that the stock E-brake cable will not match up with the rear calipers for the mazda6/mazdaspeed6 disc brakes, but i found this photo on the cardone website, and the e-brake "latch" looks eerily identical to that on the mx-6.
however since the 06-07 and up calipers are bigger, even with the latch being the same size, because the caliper is bigger, the latch location is pushed back a bit so that if you are able to get the cable on, it may be partially pulled.
the mazdaspeed calipers are even bigger....
this is what I think. Haven't purchased larger rear calipers yet, but I'm still holding out for 98+ 626 v6 calipers, which are the same size as the 03-05 calipers. I have 06-07 front calipers, enough stopping power for now. brake upgrades are expensive

Anyone care to elaborate?

I am not sure if mazdaspeed6 and mazdaspeed3 brakes are the same size or not but according to my friends on mazda3forums there are Mazdaspeed3's running 16 inch wheels without issues. Things are close but they don't rub. I may have to buy some used calipers from someone on their site.
Here's what I have come up with so far:
MS3 AND MS6 (06-07) front brake rotors = 12.6"
MZ3 AND Mazda6 v6 (06-07) front brake rotors = 11.8"
The calipers are different on MS3's and MZ3's too. The MS3's have a larger piston and a larger brake pad.
I know for sure that there are MS3 owners running 16 inch wheels as winter wheels on their cars (Motegi mr7's, FD's, and steelies with spacers behind them). There is only a few mm of clearance between the caliper and the wheel weights on the wheel but they fit.

Hmm I wonder anymore updates on this thread? i measured the stock E break they are 63-64" long @ mazda 3 & 6 are 74" maybe there is some way to mod. these cables to fit up with the m/s 3 & 6 rear calipers =)~
I got my left side ms3 caliper today and it's [fizzle]ing badass. Does anyone know how to search for calipers by stamping numbers? I want to see what other cars use this caliper so I can find a mate for it.

Assuming that everything bolts up I will have 12.6" rotors in the front. The ms3 calipers are also better than the standard mz3 calipers. The piston is bigger.

Yea, for anything bigger than 11" you are gonna have to go with custom.
Here are couple pictures I got from the previous owner of this RR-Racing kit, it uses stock or P5 caliper.
I looked up the part # he gave me on Summit and is a 12" rotor. As of right now, I only have the bracket and all the mounting hardware, still need to order hats and rotors, couple other guys on PT did confirm the part info so I'm hoping they are correct.
