taking it off was not bad at all. found the bitch bolt and took is off with ease. only part that took FOREVER is when i forgot where the vac lines go.. thank god i found a vacuum line diagram on here. my idle is at 2000 rpm with no vac leaks, and... sad part is... VRIS does not work.. on the bottom of the manifold, the two rectangle looks things for VRIS, one nipple broke off.. i tried to fix it countless times.. didnt work.. so.. i had to plug it.. so no more VRIS. maybe that's why my idle is high, or because i plugged the big intake vac line and the rear big vac line. who knows. im beat from working on this car and will look at it later on. also i have that really big oil leak coming out from the oil cap, and this all of a sudden happened after swapping manifolds. anyways, took a pic for you guys on here. enjoy.

Are you planning on turbocharging? VRIS won't matter then... but I would think it's worthwhile to have if you are staying NA. I don't know how much work you have put into the mani, but I would consider replacing whatever broke that is stopping you from having VRIS.
and maybe you bashed the oil cap with the bottom side of the mani while you were swapping them.. that definitely sucks.
AND jesus, does the KL ever look WAY easier to work on when you take off the hood.. I'm doing that next time.

the VRIS cansisters aren't hooked up, thats why it isnt working. i will say this, this is one of the best mods i have ever put on the car. gains even with out VRIS was nice.
OH AND TRUST ME, ITS SOOOOO MUCH EASIER WHEN THE HOOD IS OFF
also the oil leak is from when i wasnt letting the crank case pressur breathe out
i haven't read that thread before. i will check it out. the reason why i put this manifold on is because it belongs to the motor since i have the G4 in my car.

Nice. I'm waiting to get my K8 cams and a CAI before I do mine.
I also caught your thread on PT ( you are Medition on PT right?) and was wondering if you have read through KLZE Porches G4ZE thread?
It's kind of a mess now but theres some good stuff there if you decide to port it this winter.
The good thing about the G4 and any other KL manifold that isnt a DE is that even closed the VRIS plates wont block air flow. Putting the #2 plates less than 2 inches behind the TB was just stupid. The multiple right angle bents dont help either.

i used to have the DE a year ago, popped it though. it was luck that made me found this motor. it has better heads. its very similar to the ZE, solid lifters. only bad thing i just found out about this motor is the crank
