my guess is no since its for the 99-03 Proteges but im no MAZDA expert so I could be wrong

It should since all of those cars share the same 4cyl motor. Doesn't the msprotege intake manifold bolt right onto the 2.0 mx6?

I might give this a try, I want to stay all motor. Think I'll stop by a junkyard and grab a stock intake manifold and see if it will fit.

This one that you have a link to supposedly does not have the vics? If that's the case, then there's going to be no advantage...What I did was go to the junk yard and got an intake manifold from a protege with both VICS and VTCS in it, but I am in progress to remove the VTCS. There is an AWESOME post about this on PT. A guy named phatnucca on there swapped a VICS equipped intake manifold onto his probe.

Again, I am not sure that this is the direction you're headed, but if it is, I would absolutely go find that thread. I have the link, but I don't know how cool it would be if I posted it here.
