369.99 borla cat back for v6 mx6
59.99 pacesetter adjustable STS

*this is for JC WHITNEY (find the part numbers on the website - but place the order via phone (phone number is in the contact us section in the FAQ on jcwhitney.com)

the good - i got my sts already. but the borla is backordered so wont ship until mid-late april and takes a week and a half because its direct from the factory (im just quoting the info they gave me)

guys - quick update - pay attention to your credit cards... they charged me the wrong amount and will be crediting me - apparently the shipping code and 15% code are mutually exclusive - but i argued and argued so shipping is split. either way you will probably pay 10-15$ more than originally quoted.. because of the shipping.

hoqwever - they also failed to apply my 15% discount.. so make sure they applied it to you!

my exhaust should be here by next week they said.

nah it s a spicy turkey sandwich

lol JK - yes short throw shifter. not hard to put in... especially if you'll be under there replacing the exhaust anyways (already have to unbolt one side of the cat.. might as well testpipe it - and while its off the shifter linkage is mad easy to get to)

*NOTE the sts does not come with a shift knob or boot... so keep that in mind.

hehe k Now to delete the previous post so no one knows of my ignorance! After all, smart people ask dumb questions at times, they just make sure no one else knows they asked them. hehe j/k Thanks for the help goat, appretiate it. Btw do you have an aim screenname? Also just wondering if they sell the same kit in dual exhaust for our car?

aim name is the same (goatcrapp)

re: dual exhaust - for cat backs - borla only makes (from what i understand) OEM replacement - however they use a larger diameter piping.... but it adheres to all the OEM mounting points and length specs...

i havent seen a dual exhaust kit for our cars anywhere... thats would most likely have to be a custom job.

""" '93-94 Mazda MX-6 6-cyl. Cat-back Single Muffler/Resonator Exhaust System with Dual Straight-cut Intercooled Tips """

Thats the description off the JC Whitney site.

Will it fit on my '97 LS?

I read somewhere on RR-Racing.com that for an after-market exhaust on '96 and '97 models u need to add a pipe or make some kind of modification. Would i have to do that if i got this exhaust system and would it be relatively easy?

I am probably gonna purchase 2 Borla Cat-Back exhaust systmes with the pacesetter adjustable STS because of what happened 3 days ago - http://www.mx6.com/boardnew/showthre...threadid=25385

Also, does anyone know if they ship to Canada?

You will need to add the connection for the downstream O2 sensor. I found a very very excellent thread (19 pics + write up) by searching all forums over at Probetalk. This guy installed a Borla on his 97 PGT.

ca$h - why would you buy two? you only have one cat. *edit - i understand the 95+ mx6's have 2 cats, but they are inline, so you only have one cat to go back from (hence "cat back" ) to make a dual exhaust you would throw away all the piping anyway, because you would have to get a y pipe off the cat and custom bent pipes from there.

if you REALLY want the borla sound, you can buy borla mufflers separately.

goatcrapp - i was thinking that i would have each exhaust system connected to 3 cylinders. So instead of having one pipe from the headers to the cat., i would have seperate pipes with 2 cats, 2 resonators, etc. Would there be any difference the if dual exhaust was installed the way u described? or is my method even feasible?

But i completely forgot that most of the piping would have to be custom mandrel-bent and that would cost a good amount of $$$ i assume. Plus 2 systems would be more $$$, and right now because my MX-6 is completely stock, dual exhaust wouldn't be practical.

(The reason i wanted dual exhaust was because my 6 got hit and there was a small hole on the left side of the bumper cover opposite to the exhaust cutout, so yesturday i told the auto clinic they might as well make a cutout for dual exhaust)

Today I called the auto clinic and told them to cancel the extra cutout in the bumper cover and to just fix the hole up.

It just isn't worth dual exhaust yet, ($$$ and perfomance wise).

Thanks goatcrapp for waking me up. You saved me money, time, and a lot of frustration.
