Im lookin to start the planning for my turbo engine build up. I need to know if a fully built race head for a trubo protoge will fit my mx6 as well as what other parts are the same (cams, pistons, rods, the crank, stuff like that)
mx6 with test pipe, flowmaster muffler, underdrive pulley, mx3 flywheel, k&n air intake, kvr brakes and pads, tokico struts and springs, 17" Exel rims with BFGoodrich KD tires and 65mm bored throttle body, Proclarion CD player, Klipsch speakers, DEI 650 watt amp with Pioneer 12" sub, limo tint. SSAutochrome Headers, KLZE intake manifold and Colt cams to be installed.
Can I use MX-6/Ford Probe engine parts for my Protegé?
None of the 1st generation MX-6/Probe engine parts are interchangable with any
Protegé. Only the 2nd generation base model MX-6/Probe engine parts will work
with the 3rd generation 1.8l/2.0l models. The cylinder head from the MX-6/Probe
is not directly interchangable with the Protegé 's due to the fact that there is a hole
to mount a distributor on the MX-6/Probe but not on the Protegé. It is not
advisible to use stock components from the MX-6/Probe's engine because
many of the Protegé's parts supercede them with stronger/updated versions. Only
aftermarket performance parts are advisible.
