Thanks Paul. I'm sad that my windshield chip just cracked and started to run yesterday and my fuel pump is starting to go out or the strainer is getting clogged. Long story short this install is being pushed back til April. I should still get a decent amount of work done putting it together.
I'm gonna order a gasket kit for Christmas and get the valve job in February then in the next week try and get that cam swap done oh and hourglass the throttle body.
Throttlebody is done... I need to get this head work done. I don't think I'm gonna deck it after all it apparently can throw the timing off... I don't have adjustable cam gears so that's a no go now.
So along with the new issues I have with my car I thought about replacing the egr valve on my car. The new manifold I got came with everything attached to it. Unfortunately they were different but I got some 3/16" alluminum from my friend... so I made a block off plate. I just have to remove the exhaust tube path to the manifold but for now I pulled the valve....
Can you tell me what the 93 is and which is the "94+"?
Yep. Im gonna probably make a cleaner block off plate for my new manifold and then make a spare one then use the third piece of 3/16" alluminun for caps to cap off the exhaust and manifold tube inlets.
Anyone know the egr pipe thread pitch or size. Or better yet a link to the caps that would be great. If not I may end up cutting the tub and using the screws from that with washers to cap the holes....
Exhaust cam running on the intake side! And yes it runs... still need to fix my fuelling issue and then I'll post a video but the rumors are true. You can run it. Its louder and the idle is a little bumpy which is nice like a subtle drag car.
Unfortunately on the way home it decided it didnt want to idle anymore when coasting or at a stop. So i may have to check timing after i do an ecu rest.
Stocked my afpr and fuel pump wil be here tomorrow or monday at the latest for the pump. Should be installed shortly after... walbro 255lph ftw... shoild last any mod I can throw at it.
That idle sounds kinda rough no? Hmm... wonder how much in gains it gives... good on you for going for it though! I've been speaking with my mechanic friend about it and he kinda laughed at the idea at first... but after I left he phoned me and was actually pretty excited to try it out... LOL.
