I'm a dumbass - please help

OK, when it comes to turbochargers, I'm not exactly very compitent. I got all excited when I saw knight turbos, because they made a kit for the MX6, designed to go with my engine. Now, after reading everything about how crappy his work is, I am a little discouraged. I did find this website however, and this gave me a little more hope. It says on the bottom, FF "ported", though, and I have no idea what "ported" means. Does anybody know any other good place (or car) to get a turbo from? Basically, what I was planning on doing, was tkae out a loan, buy a turbo, take it to a shop, and say "here you go - install this". I don't know what all goes into putting in a turbo. I asked that question once already, and all I got was SEARCH. Well, I did search - and everything was either too complicated for me to understand, or stuff I already knew. Please help a guy out, and tell me what I should do

What about these?

Also, I heard that TKT "turbos" are bad, but what about his supercharger kit? That poor quality, too? Looks easier to install than a turbo, with basically the same results. Any comments?

Thanks,
Tyler

I'm sure they have, funzie, but like I said I don't understand what is being said. I tried to PM Mici, but his box was full. I just wanted someone to help me out and tell me the best place to get a turbo, what kind, and what else I would need to get before taking it to a shop. I know pretty much nothing about a turbo system and what it involves. Could someone please just help me?

PS - Funzie, I respect you, and I know you hate non-searchers as much as I do, but all I needed was a few answers. Don't get mad, OK? Thanks

hehe, i don't hate non-searchers, is that the information you want is already there. And if you don't understand how turbos work, then i don't suggest you getting one. You can just buy a TKT kit and be happy with that. But going custom, to be cheaper would be going custom, you take the parts to a shop and they build the pipes and stuff. For a parts list, again search. Also you can just take your car to a shop and ask them to get the parts for you, but thats going to cost more. I haven't tried to install a turbo on my car since I still don't know where to put the oil lines and I have to get an exhaust manifold made. The search posts are really helpfull, also try to get a book, there are about 2 turbo books on the market, and they help you understand. You need to learn how it works in order to apply it. You first learned to crawl and then to walk. Same thing applies to turbos, if you don't know how it works you are going to fall down,
