the 6g72 sits on the wrong side of the engine bay, so motor mounts would take a bit of creativity, then the motor and trans are both massive compared to ours, so either tight fit or no fit...3000gts are pretty big cars, and that motor is crammed in them pretty good, so wouldn't be surprised if the assembly is wider than our bay...but then again a 4cyl is a bit long compared to a v6, so maybe it could fit...
I'd check out Dan Sac's rwd conversion for a Probe GT to give you an idea. This would be even more difficult. It's one of those that unless you are really rich and really bored, it's a pipe dream.
Just buy a 3000GT and save yourself 10grand, a few years and convulsions of headaches.
