hmm I will also have my turboed I4 dynoed on the 22nd at the FLAPOC dyno day. As far as producing over 200hp, I'm estimating around 300 when my pistons and rods arrive in august. I will put money that I will be boosting over 250hp.. Oh yeah this would be at the wheels folks.....

Why can't MX6 beat an RX7 ?? *cough... I did it everyday
( with a poorly maintain non-turbo automatic FC )

Does you father has a FC(88-92) or FD(93-97) RX-7 ? Turbo or non-turbo ?

A non-turbo FC is 160hp@7000 rpm , with 2800lbs weight.
Make sure you has at least 170hp in your 4cylinder. You should be able to line up with your dad in quater mile, with good shifting skill

OR take the advantage of piston-powered engine.
Told your dad, both of you start off at 2nd gear for 0-60... hehehe... I am sure you will win.

oh.. I love and hate rotary engine.

Nitrous - been there, done that. Air is free, go turbo !
~ May the boost be with you ~

I'm doing a complete engine rebuild and found a place that can pretty much give me a new block and what they do is bore it out and resurface the block for less than $300 and I've been told to bore out the block to .40 for the best results so would the J-spec pistons set fit, are they .40 in size?

No the jspec pistons will not fit. The jspec pistons are stock bore. You are going to have to have a set made in .40 over. Call Je Pistons They should still have a mold from where they made mine.

Call Phil at Flatlander Racing the number is (603) 378-0090. This guy know his stuff and will be glad to help you. You dont want to deal with JE Directly their customer service and sales help is the worst in the world. (Bunch of rude A**Holes). As far as price I think mine were like $690 for pistons and Rings. I had the compression ratio lowered on mine too though so that may have cost me a little more. Hope this helps you. Definitly call PHil At Flatlander.

They adapted the VRIS into the I4 through a system called the VCIS. Thus the FS-ZE was born, making well over 170hp in the raw stage and ending up with 170hp after emission standards toned them down.

VICS, not VCIS.

The FSZE sports VICS, higher compression, different intake cam, distributor-less ignition, d-burn, and a different engine management program (in OBD-I though) to produce:

168 hp @ 6800RPM
131 lbs/ft @ 5000RPM

With the D-Burn EGR system, it should pass domestic emissions.

The intake manifold would be a great modification for people not going FI and not going for the entire FSZE installation.
With the VICS system installed, you would retain more of your lowend power while increasing your topend. P&P it would net nice results and would be best to do before installation.
You can't control the VICS system with your stock ECU, but you can use an RPM dependent switch from MSD and the stock opening/closing charts from a P5 FSDE.
You could hop on a dyno and come up with more accurate numbers to match your car and performance goals, but the P5 numbers should suite most modders quite well.

It's a costly modification, though; but when compared to the cost of a header, exhaust system, etc ... it's not that bad.

BTW, your steps are very odd ... but I'll leave my specific comments concerning that to myself.

what would be the ideal piping for an exhaust for our I4's from the cat converter and what is the best free flowing cat converter and where can I buy it online?

Don't supercharge or turbo the FSZE b/c its a high compression engine (I think 10:1 ratio) and would practically blow up. You could safely put NOS on it but, only go w/ a small amount like a 50 shot of NOS.

One thing there is only 1 person I know of that successfully put on the FSZE and the engine is mounted on a Ford Probe! The biggest problem w/ the engine is the wire harness!
