If you are talking about the stock airbox you remove it and all its components(that wierd black looking thing that connects to the top of the radiator)

a million horsepower.

seriously though, what do you expect? i bet you would be lucky to get 8hp out of a cai. with that said, i say 1-8 horsepower from a cai. as far as removing things, there is the elbow. its the black 'elbow' the goes from the engine to a small black box things(not the airfilter!). that can be replaced but cost money. then there is the little black box thingy. dont remove that. anything in front of the black box thingy(im sorry, i always get confused whether is a maf or vaf) can be removed and replaced with a cai.

i looked in the bay and around where the downpipe should go, it looks like there not even close to enough room to fit it... do i move stuff around? or does it end up fitting?

I heard that a Short ram air intake was better then a CAI because his reason was that the short ram air pipe had a wider diameter... so more air can get to the engine... but colder air is more dense so which is better???
