I believe that the ZE redline is still 7500, just like the 03/DE.
As an answer to some people's questions about VRIS points there's something out there called a VR Tuner which allows you to completely customize VRIS points in ane equipped motor. Unfortunately I don't seem to have the web address handy but I'm sure searching here and on PT you'd find it.
And a 250 HP ZE is a great thought. I'm hoping to hit that myself with lots of P&P, shaved heads for little more compression, all the bolt ons and whatnot. I've seen 03's gain 20 hp with bolt ons and drop .7 in the quarter, assuming similar results with the ZE I only have to find 30 hp with more compression and lots lots more flow in and out. Dyno tuned fuel preassure regulator and a Walbro will also help.
Then I'll slap a 50 shot on for kicks, literally. And Zach might almost have convinced me to twin turbo the sucker down the road. I told him if he builds the piping, which he will I'll be happy to oblige.
I have a 93 LS v6 and I live in L.A.. I have a Venom 400 performance module, plasma booster and custome cold air intake, but I have a really hard time finding any other parts for my car. If anyone could give me an address or any clue what where to buy, I'd really appreciate it. Thanx
Tell me, Mr. Anderson, what good is a phone call when you are unable to speak?

its a quarter after 3 in the morning ive read every word of this thread and my head hurts. i need to know one thing cause i dont udnerstand alot of the acronyms here so some of them are confusing me but! hes my question, is the swap easier with a prior placed v6 mx6 rather than a 4cyl mx? cause i got the money so i need to know which to buy. thanks
I can honestly say I don’t know of any one that has swapped over an I4 for the V6.. it is just so labor intensive and expensive..
Alternatively to swap over from a klo3 it is child’s play.. I hope that helps.. .. do you have an I4 MX6..? if you do there are other options .. but not the v6..
sub note :
i wish people would fill in what car they have...

why not turbo?????
You can totally turbo the ZE, if you stroke the motor and change the cam profiles anything is possible, I can't believe anyone would say that it is not worth slapin a huge turbo on to create horsepower.

Well, I did write this for myself, and at the time, my income was low, so I based alot of the "ideas" off of a small buget.

how would stroking the motor or changing the cams affect turboing at all? the problem with ze's is higher compression and weak internals. boosting a ze is possible just not as easy an 03. You can run some low boost on the ze, but higher amounts will require new internals, just like on an 03, so if your swapping internals why get a ze?

Why would you want to get a ZE just to rebuild it with lower compression? Simple. It has more aggressive cams, better flowing heads, better IM, carries the benefit of a newer motor....And turboing the ZE is just as feasible as turboing an 03/DE. You just have to be a lot more careful with your tuning, IE air/fuel mix, timing, and you'll definitely have to run less boost. The stock internals have shown to handle up to 300 hp and 300 ft-lbs. I forget his name but there's a guy who's done that, and it hasn't blown yet. One great thing about these motors is the abnormanly long rod/stroke ratio of 1.85:1. Meaning the rod stays pretty straight up and down keeping most of the load from combustion directed straight through the rod and maintaining its integrity.
Odin, at least one of the axles between the V6 and I4 is the same, went for a passenger side one and it's the same part number. Yes, I found that interesting.
