installed a cone (intake)

hey i got a mx6 97 mv6.. i put in a intake today just the cone filter peice and it wouldnt work cause theres 1 plug u have to plug into the stock filter (black box part) on the right hand side and the cone filter cant plug into that so when i had the cone in and started the car it died so i had to put the stock air filter back in.. how cna i fix this?

go to autozone and buy a hose. drill a hole in the filter and attach the hose to it. when i say on the filter i mean the top part where there should either be hard metal or rubber.

I'm pretty sure that black thing that plug into the airbox is the VAF.

The small vacuum line wouldn't cause the car to stall but not using the VAF would.

Take a look at my Prelude CAI in the Projects section to see what the VAF is if you didn't know.
