HOW TO: cut RS speed governor

this works for the 4cyl engines since they are speed governed at 115 mph.

very easy with your chilton's or hayne's manual wiring diagrams. this mod does not affect normal guage cluster or instrument panel functions.

take apart the center console so you can view the ECU. find the wiring diagram for your model and year. find the wire coming off the PCM/ECU/ECM labeled "To I/P" in the chilton's manual. mine was green w/ red stripe. this is the wire that goes to the instrument panel and to the back of the speedomoeter. cutting this wire will disable the governor. you will want to put a switch across the wire, since cutting the wire also affects your idle, and will make the car come close to stalling when you slow to a stop. the idle problem will happen EACH TIME THE CUT IS USED (switch thrown to OFF position) and will reamin, until the car has been restarted with the switch in the ON position. putting the switch in the OFF position allows you to reach 115 MPH and beyond. youre done. now be responsible and have fun.
NOTE: clicking the switch OFF and ON multiple times while the car is running WILL NOT hurt anything.
