MOMO JET Installation

So I thought I would do a small write up on this as I have just done it.

Generally would be straight forward but for the cruise controls.

No it wouldn't. WHY??
As you can see the back of the MOMO hub supplied for the mx-6 has this brass ring which will NOT marry to the plate in the column. so even if you wanted to lose cruise control mods would be needed. (might be OK an later models without cruise)

Std hub supplied.

OK so lets look at the std setup on the column.
You can see the cruise and horn wires and the plug they come from.

A better shot of the multi plug and how far it protrudes.

So Options?? I wanted to keep cruise control and do as little modding to the column as possible so I modified the hub.

Hub Fitted showing multi plug.

I then dissconected the cruise switched from the origonal wheel

Pic shows the controls in place and plugged in.

OK so our controls look fine on the std wheel but on the MOMO I wasnt sure. Yes I was I didnt like them so I ended up with a temp fix here. (I wasnt going to drill holes in the new wheel as I am going to change the switches to one either side of the horn push) So I used some double sided body tape to fix the switches to the wheel untill I can sort out new switches.

And the final result (Obvoiusly without the new switches)

Hope this helps if anyone else is contemplating this.

Dave
